Good For a Change Refugee Welcome

SEATTLE, WA  January 2017

Fifty-three Good for a Change volunteers came together at University Lutheran Church to show their support for refugees resettling to the Puget Sound Region. Community members of all ages brought donations and spent their time making personalized cards.

 

As a result, 271 refugees received a personal welcome card. Volunteers also amassed boxes and boxes full of donations to help refugees resettle to our community.

Thirty-eight Good for a Change volunteers came together at Temple Beth Am to show their support for refugees resettling to the Puget Sound Region. Community members of all ages brought donations and spent their time making personalized cards.

 

As a result, 111 refugees received a personal welcome card. Volunteers also amassed 2.5 car loads full of donations to help refugees resettle to our community. 

Staff from US Senator Maria Cantwell's office participated and saw first hand a number of people who want to welcome refugees in our country.

Step 1: Gather your friends and neighbors

Step 2: Provide card stock and art supplies

Step 3: Ask for donations

Step 4: Coordinate with a partner agency such as Jewish Family Service (www.jfsseattle.org) or ReWA (www.rewa.org)
